Building Study

INDS101 Intro to Interior Design | Spr 2026 | Prof. Jennifer Godfrey

For this project, students were tasked with observing and analyzing a real interior space, documenting its architectural features, spatial organization, and design elements. Through direct observation, students examined aspects such as layout, materials, lighting, furnishings, and circulation to better understand how design decisions shape the user experience.

The project emphasized visual analysis, spatial awareness, and critical observation skills while encouraging students to evaluate how form, function, and aesthetics work together within a built environment. Through detailed documentation and analysis, students developed a stronger understanding of interior design principles and architectural composition.
