INDS101 Intro to Interior Design | Spr 2026 | Prof. Jennifer Godfrey

This project explored how inspiration can be translated across design disciplines by using a Dior dress pattern as the basis for a hotel guest suite. Students analyzed the dress's form, pattern, and visual details to develop a cohesive interior concept.

Using the garment as a design source, students created a hotel guest suite and a custom rug design that reflected the character and aesthetics of the original fabric. The project emphasized concept development, pattern abstraction, and the application of design principles from fashion to interior space. The final designs demonstrated how a single source of inspiration can be transformed into a unified interior environment and custom surface design.
